Role in the project "Learning Lives"

The focus at Stirling is on work related learning.  I have been gathering stories from a diverse range of people exploring the learning experiences throughout their lives which have been significant and have influenced their work opportunities and choices.

Background & Expertise

My background is in the visual arts where I have worked collaboratively with a range of people to create artwork for public and gallery spaces.  I have worked extensively with groups considered excluded for reasons of ethnicity, poverty, mental health and disability. Much of this work focused on the theme of identity and was used as a vehicle by contributors to challenge structural power. A significant number of artworks produced have been exhibited across the UK, Europe, and the US.  Most recently I worked on a qualitative study exploring art and social inclusion. My research interests include social justice, cultural difference and the development of interdisciplinary research methods.
