Role in the project "Learning Lives"

Principal applicant with an overall responsibility for the project, and particular responsibility for the Exeter based life-history research, which focuses on learning in the community and the family.

Background & Expertise

Gert Biesta is Professor of Educational Theory at the School of Education and Lifelong Learning of the University of Exeter, and Visiting Professor for Education and Democratic Citizenship at Örebro University Sweden. He has published widely on the role of communication in education, on the methodology of educational research, and on the relationships between education and democracy. He is particularly interested in questions about the relationships between learning, inclusion and the participation of adults in democratic life.
