Role in the project "Learning Lives"
Responsible for all aspects of project management and organization, including
budgeting and financial record-keeping. I see my role as working closely with
Project Directors and Research Fellows to ensure the smooth running of the
project and to offer administrative support in their work.
Background & Expertise
Following a degree in German with Politics at Bristol University, I
worked briefly in the civil service, before taking a PGCE at Goldsmiths
College, London. I worked as a foreign language teacher for some 15 years in
UK and Spain, before joining the Centre for Educational Development &
Cooperation at Exeter University. I have maintained my interest in the
languages and cultures of other countries, teaching German and Spanish as
an adult education tutor and completing my MA in European Studies at Exeter
in 1995. Through my work in the Centre I have been involved in the design
and management of some 20 international educational development projects,
many in collaboration with the countries of central and eastern Europe. I
am also the Administrator of the ESRC funded project, Transforming Learning
Cultures in Further Education.
