Role in the project "Learning Lives"

Researching migrants, travellers and asylum seekers as part of the Learning Lives project. This involves identifying, recruiting and interviewing members of these groups, then interpreting and analysing their life histories as well as their on-going lives through the course of the Project.

Background & Expertise

Experience of teaching, learning, administration and management in educational and industrial settings, including the development of industry-education links in Swindon and Wiltshire. My most recent experience has been in the completion, at the University of Bath, of a doctoral thesis entitled: Fostering a Disposition to Lifelong Learning: pupils' perceptions and policy assumptions at Key Stage 3. My research interests continue to be in understanding more about the ways in which individuals make sense of their lives and their worlds, given the particular social and cultural settings they have experience of.
